Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

Erica Pearl Messer, PsyD, and Robin Gurwitch, PhD, conduct an intensive seven-day training that consists of lecture, role-play and live coaching along with mandatory weekly consultation calls for approximately one year after training. PCIT participants must be a licensed mental health provider (or working under a licensed provider) with a minimum of a Master's Degree.

PCIT Training Package
The PCIT Training Package contains:

  • PCIT manual and materials
  • 1 year of mandatory weekly conference calls
  • Trainees should be practicing therapists with at least a Master's degree and an active caseload.  Trainees must be licensed or working under a licensed provider by someone also attending PCIT training. 
  • Trainees must attend all 7 days of training (training consists of 40 hours of classroom work delivered in 5 consecutive days with an additional 16 hours delivered approximately 3 months later) 

In addition to PCIT, the TTTC plans to offer training and support for additional evidence-based and evidence-informed interventions. These include:

  • Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE)
