This conference was directed toward all individuals interested in pediatric onset autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) or primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), including patients, families, scientists, pediatric gastroenterologists / hepatologists, GI fellows and residents, clinical nurse specialists, radiologists, pathologists, nutritionists and other health care providers.
This inaugural conference sponsored by the Center for Autoimmune Liver Disease (CALD) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center offered a comprehensive discussion of basic, translational and clinical research on pediatric Autoimmune Liver Disease (ALD) and state-of-the-art management.

Conference Details
The focus of the conference was on the latest scientific progress with ample opportunity for discussion between patients / families, clinicians and investigators.
Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:
- Discuss the latest research advances in understanding the pathogenesis of pediatric onset AIH / PSC and their application to patient care.
- Delineate similarities and key differences in pathogenesis and natural history of pediatric and adult onset ALD and identify gaps in knowledge
- Review key research directions and potential clinical trials for pediatric onset ALD
- Discuss treatment options for refractory disease
- Outline the available resources for patients with ALD and their families
Accreditation
All participants were invited and encouraged to attend both days. Credits toward Continuous Medical Education (CME) and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) were available for activities on day 2.
Physician Credit
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This live activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit and ABP MOC credit.

Call for abstracts
Attendees were invited to submit an abstract for consideration for inclusion in the 2017 meeting. Accepted abstracts were presented as posters during the conference. The top two abstracts received additional awards. Submission deadline was September 1 at 11:59 pm EST.
