A neuropsychologist is a clinical psychologist who has special training in how the brain affects a child's functioning.
A neuropsychological evaluation involves getting to know your child by talking with you, your child, the medical team, and, if you want, your child's school. The neuropsychologist will want to know about your child's feelings and behavior, and can check your child's thinking skills by giving your child tests that measure things like:
- Visual skills
- Learning and memory
- Thinking speed
The skills we assess are important for your child's success at school, home, and in other parts of life.
