Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers many opportunities for health care professionals to continue their professional education and training. Opportunities include:

Continuing Professional Education opportunities are offered both on and off the Cincinnati Children's campus and are designed to:

  • Keep health care professionals' credentials up to date
  • Educate health care professionals on current trends, practices and / or protocols in health care
  • Allow for information sharing among peers in the health care industry

Learning Opportunities / Programs

Cincinnati Children's offers the following learning opportunities to health care professionals:

Continuing Medical Education (CME) The Office of Continuing Medical Education coordinates CME activities within the scope of the CME mission statement.
Center for Professional Excellence / Education Center for Professional Excellence / Education offers opportunities and services that help health care providers deliver high-quality pediatric care.
Education and Training Department The Education and Training Department supports a variety of opportunities including: Patient and Family Education, Leader Development, Workforce Training, Non-clinical Computer Training and Succession Management.
Educational Streaming Media The Educational Streaming Media program at Cincinnati Children's offers different programs to the general public by way of streaming media.
Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMS-C) The Emergency Medical Services for Children program provides training and continuing education programs to pediatric emergency care providers.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Courses (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support Courses given by Cincinnati Children's emphasize small-group teaching, present information and skills needed for the management of seriously ill or injured pediatric patients.
Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPPS) Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals courses are designed to give prehospital providers the education, skills and confidence they need to effectively treat pediatric patients.
Pediatric Residency Training Program Pediatric Residency Training Program trains approximately 155 residents in six programs, including pediatric primary care.
Additional Residency Programs Cincinnati Children's offers a variety of residency programs, including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and Clincial Psychology.
Fellowships Cincinnati Children's more than 25 fellowship / postdoctoral training programs.
Parent Education Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center sponsors several community education opportunities and special events throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.
