Overview
The purpose of the Health Services Research (HSR) Matrix planning effort is to develop a system at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center to support health services research (including outcomes, QI and policy research) that improves child health and transforms delivery of care in Cincinnati, the nation and the world. This will be accomplished by creating collaboration and synergy across Divisions, Centers and Programs so that Cincinnati Children's becomes recognized as a national leader in developing new knowledge about how to re-design the health care system and translate innovation and evidence into practice and policy.
What is health services research?
Health services research is the multidisciplinary field of scientific investigation that studies how social factors, organizational structures and processes, health technologies, and personal behaviors affect access to health care, the quality and cost of health care, and ultimately health and well-being. Its research domains are individuals, families, organizations, institutions, communities, and populations.
