About Your Video Visit

Cincinnati Children’s offers convenient video visits for you to connect with your child’s provider from your home. You can join a video visit from your smart device or computer. The day before your visit you will get a text message and an email reminding you of your video visit. Thirty minutes before your visit you will receive a text and an email with instructions to prepare for your visit.

Cincinnati Children's accepts all major insurance plans (Visit our Health Insurance Information page.). Typically, the cost for a video visit is the same as an in-person visit. Co-pay, co-insurance and/or deductible amounts apply to video visits, and you may receive a bill for those balances after Cincinnati Children’s bills your insurance carrier. Video visits are covered by Ohio Medicaid and their plans (CareSource, etc.). Most private insurance plans cover video visits, but coverage can vary by employer. If you have questions about your coverage, we recommend checking your summary plan description or contacting your plan to verify if the scheduled services via video will be covered.

During Your Visit

Go to a quiet room in your home with your child, connect to Wi-Fi, and open the text or email from Cincinnati Children’s. Click on the link to connect. If prompted, allow the app to access the microphone and camera on your device. You will be placed in a waiting room until your provider is ready. When your provider is ready, the waiting room will ring. If you leave the waiting room, you will receive a text with a link letting you know your provider is ready.
