Meet Our Fellows
Sandra Cortina, Ph.D
Sandra Cortina, Ph.D., is the fellow in the Center for the Promotion of Adherence and Self-Management. She currently provides in-patient consultation-liaison services to the Liver Transplant team regarding adherence issues, behavioral concerns, and general psychosocial adjustment of patients and families. Out-patient services include providing behavior management and parent training strategies, follow-up of patient adjustment and adherence issues related to liver transplant, and utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to address parent/child adjustment to chronic illness. Dr. Cortina also serves as the interventionist for a multi-site, randomized control trial of an intervention to promote adherence to oral medication among adolescents with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Finally, she is involved with Dr. Drotar in the development of several manuscripts pertaining to patient and family adjustment to chronic illness.
