From 67 investigators that form the DHC Research Base, 20 have research programs in Inflammatory and Diarrheal Disease, with research projects focused on inflammatory mechanisms of intestinal disease, vaccine trials against intestinal infections, studies of bioactive compounds in human milk, and translational research on inflammatory bowel disease. They form a highly collaborative theme whose research programs uses the laboratory bench, patient samples, and conduct clinical trials as depicted in the figure at the right.
