Allergy and Immunology

Programs / Services

The Division of Allergy and Immunology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers the following programs and services:

Allergy Clinic

Children and adolescents are seen upon consultation with and family physicians seeking further support in the care of patients with allergic disorders.

Food Allergy Clinic

An interdisciplinary team is available for both consultation and referral to evaluate children and adults with documented or suspected food allergy and eczema, children with gastroesophageal reflux disorders, babies with formula intolerance and individuals with eosinophilic disorders. We offer clinical research studies and novel therapies.

Children and adults with various forms of eosinophilia-associated disorders are referred locally and from all over the world. We offer a holistic approach, including patient evaluation, consultation therapy and clinical research studies.

Immunodeficiency Clinic

Patients and their families are seen in consultation following a request from their primary care physician. We will assist the primary care physician in obtaining a diagnosis and treatment plan specific for the needs of the patient.

We offer a complete evaluation of the patient's immune function to determine if defects in immunity are related to the medical problems facing the patient. We offer treatment options based on the diagnosis. Services include a day hospital for the administration of intravenous immune globulin (IVIg). We also coordinate with Cincinnati Children's home care services for the home administration of IVIg.
