The Khurana Hershey Lab has several institutes and agencies that graciously provide us with
funding support to ensure that our research is “top-notch”. We would like to extend our gratitude to the following
agencies and institutes listed below.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical
research agency. The NIH is made of up 27 Institutes and Centers,
each with a specific research agenda.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
is an institute within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that
conducts and supports basic and applied research to better understand, treat
and prevent infectious, immunology and allergic diseases.
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) is an institute within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that promotes the prevention and treatment of heart, lung, and blood diseases
and enhances the health of all individuals.
The Asthma and Allergic Diseases Cooperative Research Center (AADRC) is one of seven centers established in the US in 1971 to promote research in
the fields of asthma and allergic diseases.
The center is funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
The Inner-City Asthma Consortium (ICAC) comprises
a statistical and Clinical Coordinating Center (at Rho), a Scientific and
Administrative Center (at the University of Wisconsin-Madison),
9 subcontracted clinical research sites, and 2 basic science sites. ICAC is the third in a series of inner-city
asthma initiatives funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services develops and overseas programs that provided healthcare, employment and
economic assistance, child support and services to families and children.
