Ximena Soler, MD

I’m a pediatric anesthesiologist. The year 2023 marks my 20th year in my specialty. For over two decades, I have helped roll out regional anesthesia, started protocols for pediatric total pancreatectomy with islet autotransplantation (TPIAT) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), and led the Anesthesia Transplant Team. I continue to be an early adopter of innovative techniques, especially those involving point-of-care ultrasound.

Being a doctor was a decision I made early in life. I knew I wanted to work with children during my first pediatric rotation. I trained in pediatric anesthesiology to provide the best comfort and care for children seeking medical and specifically surgical help at home and anywhere in the world.

I strive to be empathetic. Remembering what it’s like to be a child — scared and looking for a friendly smile. I’m mindful that for a parent, it is a leap of faith to hand their baby over to someone else’s care. I understand that I’m caring for their most precious being in the world.
