I'm an audiologist specializing in behavioral hearing evaluations. Everyone is different; no two stories are the same. I strive to ensure patients receive individualized care that addresses their specific needs.
Growing up, I had a close bond with my grandmother, but I did not like seeing her isolate herself and withdraw from family and friends due to her hearing impairment. This experience drew me to the field of audiology. Working with children during my externship year, I saw many children diagnosed with hearing loss who did not have the funds to pursue assistive hearing technology. I wanted to change the narrative for those kids.
I was raised on the model of "It takes a village to raise a child." That is a saying I live by and use to foster great patient care. Every child deserves to have a support system and a team of individuals who all have the same goal — success for the child. I strive to play a role by ensuring patients and their families have all the knowledge and tools necessary for exceptional hearing healthcare.
My research focuses on improving access to hearing healthcare for underserved and underrepresented populations. I also want to increase the knowledge and understanding that all providers must promote diversity, equity and inclusion not only in our field, but also in everyday life. In order to provide excellent healthcare to all, everyone deserves a seat at the table.
I like to eat and travel in my free time, capturing every new adventure with a photo. I consider myself a "foodie," and I like new restaurants, big or small, salty or sweet.
