As a member of the Child Neurology and Pediatrics Combined Residency Program, I'm a strong ally and advocate for people who are “differently-abled.” My experiences with people with disabilities and knowledge of American Sign Language help make me a compassionate physician.
My interest in child neurology began as a result of my passion for caring for children with disabilities. I started learning American Sign Language in middle school and continued my studies throughout high school and college.
One aspect of child neurology that interests me is the diversity of patients we treat. The variety of possible diagnoses and treatment plans allows me to exercise my intellectual curiosity with a wide range of patient populations and treatment settings. I enjoy the close connections and longitudinal care formed in the outpatient clinic and the understanding and fast pace of the inpatient services. I enjoy collaborating with colleagues from other healthcare fields to ensure my patients receive the best possible outcomes.
One of the many reasons I chose Cincinnati Children's for my Child Neurology residency was the people I met on my interview day. After starting my residency, these people continued to be one of my favorite things about the program! I love to learn and work alongside these wonderful faculty and residents in the pediatric and neurology programs. Our residents are a dedicated, friendly and energetic group that makes me excited for work each day!
This program promotes work-life balance. Even though I am in the pediatric portion of my training, I still feel very connected to the neurology program. Both the faculty and residents provide formal mentorship along with fun social events outside the hospital. My four other co-interns and I already have first-place trivia wins from a local brewery under our belts. Cincinnati is a beautiful city to live in and work.
In my free time, I love trying all the local restaurants, exploring different running trails and cheering loudly at FC Cincinnati soccer games. My favorite brewery, Madtree, is a great place to meet up with friends after work. I also enjoy waterskiing, collecting postcards from all over the world, playing board games with friends and watching Marvel movies.
