As a nurse practitioner in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, I believe that families come in all shapes and sizes. I endeavor to help them thrive and reach their full potential, no matter the circumstances. Furthermore, comprehensive mental health support requires addressing lifestyle choices including mindfulness, sleep hygiene, physical activity and diet.

I want patients and families to know that while medication has its place in psychiatric care, it’s not always the complete answer. Instead, it’s part of a multidisciplinary approach that includes therapy, education, community support and social services working together to help families succeed in addressing the mental health needs of children.
