I'm a pediatric anesthesiologist with advanced ultrasound and airway skills. Often, I first meet patients and families when they are feeling scared and stressed. To offer comfort, I take the time to ensure everyone understands what will happen when they go to sleep, including how we plan to keep them safe. It's a special skill to earn a family's trust in minutes and to give them confidence that you will take exceptional care of them and make their surgical experience as comfortable as possible.
I've wanted to be a physician for as long as I can remember. I loved figuring out what was wrong with people and helping them feel better. I didn't find anesthesia until I was in medical school. I love the fast pace of the operating room (OR), the procedural aspect of the job, and keeping people safe while the surgeons help them get better. I've always had a passion for working with kids, as I'm a big kid at heart. I get along well with them, which makes the day much more relaxed for everyone.
My family and I love to travel. In the last few years, we've been to Iceland, Greece, Peru, Egypt, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, Mexico and Hawaii. I've also hiked in more than 15 different US national parks. I love Harry Potter, playing the cello and both snow and water skiing.
