Early in my nursing career, I worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and became fascinated with ventilator management and the lungs of children. Now I specialize in pulmonary medicine for children who have a chronic tracheostomy tube, those who are ventilator dependent and children with cystic fibrosis.
I have been a registered nurse for 35 years and a pediatric nurse practitioner for the last 15 years. I care for children as I would want someone to care for my own children. I also try to approach parents with the same respect I would expect as a parent of a sick child.
I specialize in children with chronic lung disease who are trach- and vent-dependent. My goal is to provide safe care and to help all children reach their personal best. I’m passionate about my nursing practice and in providing the highest standard of care to my patients and their families.
In my role as a certified Nurse Life Care Planner, I create medical life-care plans for children with catastrophic injuries and determine future costs.
In my free time, I like to shop, craft and decorate. I’m married, have two sons and a German Shepherd named Hans!
