As a pediatrician, I care for children and young adults with asthma, acne and mental health conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD). I also do travel consultations and make sure all questions are answered prior to leaving the visit, so each family feels reassured.
I was inspired to become a pediatrician by my grandfather, a nurse in the armed services. He was a caring and loving individual, and he fueled my desire to help and heal people from a physical and an emotional standpoint.
After completing my medical training in Illinois, I returned to my hometown for a pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s. I always try to take a whole family approach, talking to both the kids and the parents about their questions or concerns. I also do quick mental check-ins during my well-patient visits to see how they are coping with any stressors they may be encountering. I spend as much time as needed with all my patients and families.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, children and friends. I also enjoy relaxing and watching a favorite show or movie.
