As an anesthesiologist, I provide pediatric patients with general anesthesia care. My specialty is pediatric cardiac anesthesiology. I care for children with congenital cardiovascular conditions, including sedation and general anesthesia for cardiac and non-cardiac surgery, cath lab and imaging procedures. Any second spent planning and implementing a safe and effective anesthetic plan is time well spent!
My pediatrician inspired me to become a physician. A long list of mentors and dedicated clinicians guided me to become an anesthesiologist. During residency, I realized that pediatric anesthesia is special. As a pediatric anesthesiologist, I have the privilege of guiding families through difficult times and making a difference by providing safe, effective sedation and anesthesia.
My research focuses on optimizing the care of single ventricle patients in the operating room for non-cardiac surgery. I’m particularly interested in studying mechanical circulatory support devices in the operating room.
I am honored to be awarded the Miroslawa T. Jasinska Pediatric Anesthesia Award during my time as an anesthesiology resident at Massachusetts General Hospital. This award goes to the resident who makes a dedicated effort to improve the care of pediatric patients during their pediatric residency.
When not working, I always look forward to spending time with my family. We love to explore new places around our wonderful country, especially the Rocky Mountains and many of our national parks.
