About

Biography

I’m a social worker and school-based therapist who works with children and families. My care philosophy is client-oriented, and I believe in the importance of compassion, empathy and a holistic approach to treatment. Therapy can be intimidating, especially for children and teens, so I strive to create a safe space for them to share their thoughts and feelings without feeling judged.

For as long as I can remember, I have been acutely aware of how vulnerable yet resilient children are. I grew up with an adopted older brother who struggled with a wide array of mental health concerns. My parents diligently ensured he received the appropriate services throughout his childhood and teenage years. When he got older, he spoke highly of the therapists, social workers and psychiatrists he worked with. I remember being inspired by how he talked about them and how grateful he was for the support they gave him. But most importantly, I felt called to one day be able to play that role in another person's life.

I previously worked full-time as a therapist in a partial hospitalization program where I worked closely with children unable to attend their regular school setting due to severe mental health and behavior disturbances. While there, I provided individual, group and family therapy services. I was privileged to lead group therapy sessions where clients could creatively express their thoughts and feelings through arts and crafts.

It was my honor to graduate Magna Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati's Master of Social Work program, specializing in children and families. Outside of work, I enjoy crafting and painting. However, my favorite pastime is spending quality time with my family.
