Aimee E. Deiwert, MD

As a community pediatrician, I specialize in general pediatric and adolescent medical care, including behavioral health concerns such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression and anxiety disorders.

I grew up in the Cincinnati area. My high school biology teacher helped me realize my affinity for science and encouraged me to pursue a career in medicine. I majored in chemistry at Hanover College in Indiana. While there, I also developed a passion for advocacy, making it a natural progression to combine my interests and become a pediatrician.

I enjoy developing relationships over time with my patients and families. This approach helps me better understand their unique needs so I can offer more individualized medical care. My goal is to provide a safe and compassionate medical home for patients and families, where they feel heard and supported. While my primary goal is to provide quality medical care, I also want patients and families to see me as an advocate — no matter their needs.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our pets, reading fiction, strolling through gardens and bookstores and serving on the Decatur County Board of Health.
