I’m a nurse anesthetist providing anesthesia services for peri-operative areas at the Burnet and Liberty campuses, the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and radiology.
My interest in the medical field and, ultimately, in anesthesia stems from my enjoying the sciences and lifelong learning. While volunteering for the American Red Cross in high school, I realized I enjoyed being a part of something that made a difference in people’s lives. My interest in anesthesia grew further while caring for and managing critically ill patients as a nurse in pediatric and intensive care units.
I have two children who have had procedures here at Cincinnati Children’s, so I realize how stressful the day of surgery can be for kids and their families. I use my experience to educate and reassure the patients and families I’m privileged to care for. I want parents to know that the anesthesia and peri-operative teams will provide excellent and safe care for their child during their procedure.
Most of my time away from work is spent with my wife and kids and keeping up with their various activities and sports. I’m also a runner and compete in the Flying Pig Marathon events most years.
