As a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), I provide anesthesia services at the Burnet Campus, Cardiac Catheterization Lab and the Department of Radiology. I collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and other perioperative staff to provide my patients with holistic and evidence-based anesthetics.
I understand that families trust me to care for their children. I take that responsibility very seriously, and I ensure that I provide their child with the best care possible.
I’m the third generation of nurses in my family. I was inspired to become a nurse when my father had open heart surgery, and I recognized the importance of the relationship between nurses and their patients. After graduating from nursing school, I worked for three years in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at the Mayo Clinic before I decided to go to CRNA school. I earned my Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Cincinnati and began my career as a CRNA at Cincinnati Children’s.
I enjoy working with children and every day brings its own joys and challenges. Surgery can be scary for anyone of any age, and I love being able to bond with my patients and make children smile and laugh before easing them to sleep.
When I am not working, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my husband, singing in choirs around Cincinnati, and cuddling with our two cats.
