My Biography & Research

Dr. Enlow seeks to understanding the intersection of health and society throughout her medical training and career. At the University of Arizona, where she graduated in the top two of her medical school class, she was active in many organizations seeking equity in health care. As a pediatric resident at Stanford University, she participated in the Stanford Advocacy Track and led a research study examining the experiences of low-income, mostly Latino, families as they transitioned from the NICU to home.

She continued in this line of research as a neonatology fellow at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She lead research exploring the effect of continuity of care in infancy on early childhood outcomes as well as the impact of health literacy of parents of premature infants on health care utilization after NICU discharge. She was awarded a nationally competitive NSRA Ruth L Kirschstein T32 training grant. This award allowed her to complete a Masters of Health Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania where she completed additional training in health policy research methodology and biostatistics. Her thesis project explored the experiences of low-income mothers in the first 30 days after NICU discharge. As a faculty member at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center within the UC Department of Pediatrics, she is interested in further elucidating the barriers parents face after NICU discharge, including the role of health literacy, and understanding the complex mechanism by which social determinants influence perinatal outcomes.
