I’m an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I encourage patients and families to be fully engaged in their treatment. I like to spend time building rapport and learning about their treatment needs.
I have been working at Cincinnati Children’s in psychiatry in various roles since 2000 and have enjoyed participating in our division’s growth. My most recent endeavor is assisting with opening the new Norwood location for mental health services.
Mental health care is not about the provider — it truly is patient- and family-driven. I work to include everyone in the decision-making process and ask for honest feedback about how they feel the treatment is going. I genuinely enjoy getting to know the patients and families I serve.
People are often surprised by my age and the fact that I have been at Cincinnati Children’s for 20 years. I like having a good time and strongly feel that humor has its place in mental health treatment.
I’m a wife and mother of two school-aged children and a Girl Scout troop leader. I enjoy an active lifestyle — weightlifting, being outdoors and spending time with my husband, daughter, son and special-needs dog, Rosie.
