I am a social worker specializing in inpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation. We need to meet patients where they are and remember that patients and families are trying their best with the resources and knowledge they have available to them. I try my best to fill any gaps in client care — whether it’s helping families ask the right questions, advocating for their needs or preparing them for returning home after hospitalization.
I became a social worker to help others. I chose to work with children because of their unlimited potential and resilience, and I want to provide the support that every child needs in their life. The care and support they receive now can impact their futures and how they interact with the world for years to come. I was drawn to inpatient rehab after noticing care gaps when a family member was at another rehab facility. I saw how this negatively impacted my family, and I want to help other families have a more positive experience.
If families have questions or concerns and they don't know who or how to ask, I try my best to support and advocate for them. The healthcare system can be very confusing and stressful. I want patients and their families to know they don’t have to navigate it alone. It’s my goal to ensure patients receive the best possible care while at Cincinnati Children's.
In my free time, I like indoor cycling, playing with my dogs and spending time outside. I love exploring Cincinnati and traveling to new cities and countries when I can.
