With 30 years’ experience as a nurse practitioner, I believe in individualizing patient care to meet the needs of each patient and family.
I work hard to promote access to care for all of my patients. I like to teach others about my patients and their healthcare needs. I want doctors, nurses and providers to fully understand the children they treat.
As an ear, nose and throat (ENT) nurse practitioner, I work with children and adults. I help children and families manage chronic and complex airway issues and tracheotomy. I work with the tracheotomy team to address the needs of these patients across the hospital. I also provide general ENT care.
I became a nurse practitioner to promote access to quality healthcare for all individuals and the highest quality of life for families and kids.
My research focuses on the appropriate use of antibiotics, especially when given to prevent infection during or after surgery. I also study ways to ensure that all staff across the hospital system have the knowledge they need to care for children and families with tracheotomies.
I was honored to receive the Cincinnati Children’s Woman of the Year award for my work in helping to start Crossroad Health Center, a nonprofit that addresses health care needs for the underserved.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy family time, riding my tandem bike, reading, and being involved with our church and community.
