Katelyn M. Grube, MSN, APRN

My clinical specialty is pediatric surgery. I began my career at Cincinnati Children's as a student nurse in 2003, working in hospital medicine for 14 years. During that time, I was inspired by the growing number of advanced practice nurse practitioners included in multidisciplinary rounds. A few attendings supported and encouraged me to become a provider. I transitioned to the pediatric surgery clinic in 2018 and fell in love with the surgery population.

I have always loved working with children. As a surgical nurse practitioner, I meet children and families at a very stressful time in their lives. One of my care strategies is to try to distract and assess simultaneously. You might see me examining a toddler while singing CoComelon or easing a teenager's worries by talking about Tik Tok. Whatever it takes, I am here to help care for you and your child during their surgical course of treatment.

I was honored to receive a preceptor award and the Daisy Award from Cincinnati Children's for excellence in patient care. I am also a Cincinnati Children’s Rapid Cycle Improvement Collaborative (RCIC) winner.

When I'm not working, I love spending time running around with my kids. I also enjoy drinking coffee and exercising.
