I am an outpatient psychologist at the Green Township location of Cincinnati Children’s. As a generalist, I treat several mental health disorders including generalized worry, obsessive- compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, social anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, body image disorders and more. I particularly enjoy working with teens.
I also work closely with the Cincinnati Children’s Transgender Clinic to provide team-based, gender-affirming care to transgender and gender diverse youth and their families.
I grew up in a very diverse neighborhood in New Orleans and, from a young age, became involved in community work, social justice and advocacy. I was drawn to the field of psychology as an extension of that commitment. I consider the multiple cultural aspects of my patients' identities and encourage them to incorporate all parts of themselves and their worldviews into our work.
Having a job that allows me to cheer on kids as they overcome fears and learn to be their own best advocates is beyond rewarding. All children have such amazing potential, and helping children and their families grow together is a dream job.
It’s important to me that children and their parents or caretakers feel that I understand, respect, and support them. This is the foundation for doing good work together. I use a strength-based approach, recognizing and building on the unique talents and resilience of each family. Using evidence-based interventions and a cognitive-behavioral approach, I help my patients develop coping strategies and overcome the worries, doubts and challenges that impede their potential.
