Elizabeth Ireson, MD, MPH

I am a primary care pediatrician at Cincinnati Children’s. My goal is to form genuine partnerships with my patients and their families, empowering you to work toward your child’s health goals. I deeply value empathetic listening and family-centered care, and I strive to ensure every patient is equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.  
 
I always knew I wanted to work with children, even before I decided on medicine, so pediatrics was a natural choice for me. I enjoy caring for children at every stage of life and partnering with families for the long term. It’s important to me that you feel heard and supported, and that together we can make decisions that are right for your child.  
 
Outside of clinical care, I’m passionate about health policy and advocacy. I’ve developed expertise in policy analysis, child health financing, firearm injury prevention, and immigrant health through my work in the DC offices of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Children’s Hospital Association. I also enjoy teaching and collaborating with other child health professionals to promote effective child advocacy.  
 
I’m honored to have received several awards, including the Dr. Frederick Green Pediatric Fellow Advocacy Award from the Children’s National Child Health Advocacy Institute, the Robert Schaengold Award for Dedication to Care for the Underserved from the Cincinnati Pediatric Society, and the Outstanding Second-Year Pediatric Resident Award.  
 
When I’m not working, you’ll find me outdoors hiking or kayaking, attending theater events and reading.
