My experiences working with children and adults with mental illnesses inspired my decision to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). I specialize in various mental disorders, including anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), psychoses and behavioral problems.
I value partnering with the patient and family to explore the best course of treatment for each individual, such as diagnostic evaluations, holistic treatment plans and prescribing appropriate medications.
I was drawn to work with mental health disorders in young people by my clinical experience at the Cincinnati Health Department, in the Department of School and Adolescent Health and as an inpatient psychiatric nurse at Cincinnati Children’s. I’m also a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA).
My care philosophy is patient-centered, integrative and holistic. I believe that children and adolescents are complex, and they offer many perspectives to consider, such as biological, psychological, developmental and more.
During my free time, I enjoy reading, dining out, traveling and being with family, friends and my dog, Sandra. Before I became a nurse, I was an international flight attendant based out of Dallas, New York and Atlanta for 20 years.
