I’m a pediatric neurology resident in the Child Neurology/Pediatrics Combined Residency Program. I am passionate about family-centered care. I aim to serve children and families and ease the impacts of social determinants of health, adverse childhood experiences and psychiatric co-morbidities on neurological disease.
Because of my interest in academic research and patient care, I sought a career path that would facilitate interdisciplinary training and bridge the gap between research and clinical practice. Being a pediatric provider allows me to serve children and improve their health during their formative years—working together for change that can last a lifetime. I prioritize making medical information accessible to patients and their families by breaking down complex medical concepts into digestible conversations as much as possible.
My career research goals are to advance neurology medical practice to address the effects of stress on neurological disease, particularly in seizure disorders. While working on my PhD in neuroscience, I was awarded a National Institutes of Health (NIH) F31 pre-doctoral fellowship grant from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) to support my training and research as a physician-scientist.
When I’m away from work, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, and caring for the many plants I grow.
