As a surgical nurse practitioner, I specialize in pediatric surgery for those having urological, gynecological, orthopaedic, and ear, nose and throat (otolaryngology) surgeries. I also assist with patients having plastic surgery.
My mother was a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurse for over 40 years, and I would hear the stories of how she helped people. She instilled a desire in me to help others. When I was in my early 20s, I served a mission in Argentina that allowed me to solidify my love for people and service.
I’m a big kid at heart and love interacting and playing with children, so pediatrics was the best fit for me. Being a surgical nurse practitioner allows me to help children improve their quality of life through surgical procedures. I try to get to know each child and help them in a manner that would best serve them on an individualized basis.
I love spending my free time with my wife and our six kids — especially outside. We’re a very active family and are always up for adventures, such as riding horses, camping, biking, fishing and boating. We love our horses, dogs, cats and dairy goats. We are also very active in our church and enjoy filling our cups spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically.
