I was inspired to work in healthcare by my grandmother, who was a dialysis technician. She always spoke highly of the nurses and doctors she worked with. I also was involved with children in summer camps when I was in high school, and I loved it. These experiences led me to become a registered nurse, and then to continuing my education to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.
As a nurse practitioner in pediatric primary care, I believe it’s important to listen to patients and families and to include them in their child’s healthcare decisions. If a patient, parent or guardian feels empowered to participate in the patient’s care, the overall outcome will be more successful.
I work in Cincinnati Children’s School-Based Health Centers located in Avondale’s and Clifton's surrounding communities. These centers are available to the students and children of these communities. We offer all the services a pediatrician's office provides, including well-child visits, ill-child visits and immunizations.
When I am not taking care of patients, I love spending time with my family, socializing with friends and traveling.
