My clinical specialties are pediatrics and pediatric neurology. I started my pediatric neurology residency at Cincinnati Children's in 2023. I'm excited to learn about all aspects of pediatric care for the first two years of residency before focusing more closely on neurology. I may specialize further as I progress in my career, and I am particularly interested in critical care neurology, neonatal neurology, palliative care and bioethics.
I love working with children and families and teaching and empowering those with complex medical conditions. Children are resilient even in challenging circumstances, and being a part of the medical journey for children with complex needs is very fulfilling. I focus on clear communication with families and care centered on the child. I enjoy explaining diseases and treatments to children in ways they can understand. I strive to make families feel heard, valued and empowered in the face of overwhelming and challenging medical circumstances.
I'm also a researcher interested in learning how families and clinicians make decisions when there is "no right answer" and how clinicians can better explain treatment options and support families. My current research interests are bioethics, health policy and population health.
I won the award for Written Scholarship in Medical Ethics at the University of Utah in the spring of 2023 and have authored publications in the fields of radiology, neurology, epidemiology and narrative medicine.
In my free time, I like trail running, writing, traveling and finding new local coffee shops.
