I want children to feel comfortable participating in their care and empowered to ask questions, while helping parents feel confident in managing their child's condition between visits.

About

Biography

As a nurse practitioner in the Division of Nephrology at Cincinnati Children’s, I care for children and adolescents with a wide range of kidney conditions. My areas of interest include chronic kidney disease, nephrotic syndrome, proteinuria and hematuria, congenital and genetic kidney disorders, and kidney health following acute kidney injury. My goal is to maximize every visit, making sure families leave feeling heard, informed, and supported.

I believe every visit is an opportunity to help children and families better understand their health and feel more confident about the path ahead. Kidney conditions can be complex and sometimes frightening, so I strive to turn uncertainty into understanding by taking the time to listen, answer questions, and explain things in a way that makes sense to each child and family. I want children to feel comfortable participating in their care and empowered to ask questions, while helping parents feel confident in managing their child's condition between visits. I view care as a partnership and work closely with families to develop plans that fit their needs and goals.

My path to pediatric nephrology is especially meaningful to me because I have experienced firsthand the impact a pediatric nephrologist can have on a child and their family. That experience helped inspire me to become a provider and ultimately led me to this specialty. I have always enjoyed working with children and families, and I love that I get to build relationships with patients over time while caring for a wide range of conditions. I also enjoy the problem-solving involved in nephrology and helping families understand how the kidneys affect so many different aspects of a child’s health.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring Cincinnati, and going to Reds and Bengals games. I also enjoy bike riding and have participated in the Breakthrough T1D Ride to Cure Diabetes multiple times, cycling 100 miles to raise money for type 1 diabetes research.
