Sarah Matthews, MD

I am a pediatric rehabilitation medicine physician who specializes in caring for children with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, myelomeningocele and neuromuscular conditions. My goal is to help each child reach their fullest potential by working closely with families and a team of specialists to develop individualized care plans that support their unique needs and goals.

I believe in a multidisciplinary approach to care built on open communication and collaboration. Every child and family faces different challenges and has different aspirations. I work hard to understand what matters most to each family and partner with them to achieve the best possible outcomes for their child.

My passion for caring for children with disabilities began early in life. My twin sister and I had health challenges growing up and were fortunate to be surrounded by compassionate doctors, nurses and therapists. Those experiences inspired me to pursue medicine and dedicate my career to helping children and families navigate complex medical journeys.

In 2026, I was nominated for both the Golden Heart Award, which recognizes team members who demonstrate exceptional humanism in care, and the Schwartz Rounds Compassionate Caregiver Award.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, solving puzzles and crafting.
