About

Biography

As an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), I specialize in psychiatry as well as education. Children and adolescents are at extremely pivotal milestones in their lives. With good mental health care, we can help them meet their unique maximum potential.

I was inspired to pursue my career by many historical African-American nurses, as well as family members. I chose psychiatry as a specialty and work with children and adolescents to facilitate their functioning in society.

I use a team approach with my patients and families to achieve the best outcome. My office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4 pm. MyChart is the preferred method of communication.

I was honored to receive the Northern Kentucky University Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Clinical Excellence Award (2017). I also received the Excellence in Innovation in Teaching Award from the Association of Black Nursing Faculty, Inc. (2018).

I served as the faculty advisor for a chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (2015-2020). I have also participated in community service, professional presentations, research and multiple publications. In my free time, I like to cook, read, listen to music, dance and travel.
