About

Biography

My clinical specialty is pediatric neurology, with specific interests in neurocritical care, pediatric stroke and palliative care. I strive to listen to my patients and their families and consider their unique perspectives when making care plans. I take a holistic and humanistic view of patient care by considering what medications or procedures will treat a disease and what will ultimately be the best quality of life for a patient and their family.

I was inspired to become a doctor by my mother, who is a physician. I grew up watching her tirelessly care for others, knowing that was how I wanted to live my life. I was initially drawn to neurology because the brain is the organ of personhood—it encompasses our thoughts, feelings, emotions and ultimately our identity as humans. In medical school, I couldn't think of a more important specialty. I was explicitly drawn to pediatric neurology because I love working with children. They are joyful, honest and inspiring.

Caring for pediatric patients is especially important because one action in a young person’s life can have lifelong effects. I’m inspired by the resilience of children and the brain’s ability to adapt and form new connections. Children can overcome challenges and joyfully adapt to things many adults cannot. When taking care of you, I will always listen to you and be here for you. I am your number one advocate, striving to prioritize your quality of life and experiences.

I was fortunate to present a poster on magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of seizures at the American Society of Neuroradiology Conference (2021). I’m passionate about research in medicine and hope to continue my research endeavors in the future.

When I’m not working, I love to run, lift weights, bake gluten-free goodies, and spend time with my husband and two cats.
