In pediatrics, it’s more than just medicine and finding a diagnosis and writing a prescription. There are a lot of human elements involved. That’s what keeps me coming in every day.

About

Biography

My name can be a mouthful to say. So, you can call me Dr. Jim or Dr. O—or even Uncle Jim, as some kids do. I’ve been a pediatrician in primary care for over 40 years.

I’ve wanted to care for children for as long as I can remember—even back to my childhood. My care philosophy centers around the belief that each child is an individual with unique needs. I’m here to attentively listen and meet the needs of patients and families to the best of my ability.

As a board-certified pediatrician, I help manage various conditions and provide preventative care. Many of my patients have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and I feel they require a unique and holistic approach to care. For me, pediatrics doesn’t feel like work—it’s more of a mission.

When I’m not caring for children, I enjoy pursuing creative outlets. I’m an artist, and I have an art studio at the Pendleton Art Center.
