Lisa Paxton, APRN, CNP

I’ve wanted to work in pediatrics for as long as I can remember. As a gastrointestinal (GI) nurse practitioner in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, I enjoy connecting and sharing with patients to help them understand their condition and plan of care.

My experience as a traveling nurse prepared me to adapt quickly to changes in the health field. Listening to families and their concerns and reviewing their health history and symptoms is essential in developing a care plan that safely treats the patient’s condition.

I was drawn to the GI team by the amazing teamwork that I had seen between providers and other subspecialty teams. The team goals of achieving excellence in practice, educating future providers and compassionate care align with my own career goals. In addition to gastroenterologists, I work with nutritionists, nurse practitioners and many other subspecialists.

I spend my free time with my children. I can usually be found on a baseball field or courtside watching my sons play basketball. I also enjoy working in my yard, baking and relaxing with my four rescue cats.
