I’m certified as both a pediatric nurse practitioner and a family nurse practitioner. I work in the Emergency Department and Urgent Care. My previous experience was in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). I am also a certified Life Coach.
I was inspired to become a nurse practitioner by an RN who cared for me when I had surgery at age 15. She had a positive impact on me, and I wanted to do the same for others.
When I care for children and adolescents, I try to have positive energy. I also make sure my patients and their families get their questions answered.
I received the Daisy Award in December of 2008. Peers award this to nurses who go out of their way to provide excellent patient care. I also received the 2010 Red Shoes Award, which is given by the parents of patients for extraordinary care.
In my free time, I enjoy gardening, creating mixed-media crafts and taking photographs. I also enjoy crocheting and exercising. I have a Sphynx cat named Boris, and my husband and I like to laugh, which we often do!
