I am a nurse practitioner specializing in acute care pediatrics and inpatient liver and intestinal transplants. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates on each patient care plan, ensuring all tests, medications and treatments are appropriate and tailored to each patient. We support a culture of safety, and we value family input concerning each child.
Witnessing and experiencing the incredible teamwork at Cincinnati Children's in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as a bedside nurse inspired me to become a provider. I frequently cared for the liver and intestinal transplant population, both pre- and post-transplant, with great interest in disease pathologies and treatment courses.
My approach to care has been formed by my experiences as a mother, a student, a bedside nurse in Labor and Delivery, a nurse in the PICU for seven years and by the incredible influence of my fellow advanced practice providers on the Gastrointestinal (GI) Liver/Intestinal Transplant Team. I have the "hands-on" experience of caring for the sickest of the sick pre- and post-transplanted patients night and day as a bedside nurse. I can appreciate the inpatient struggles that our patients and their families experience. I'm blessed to have been mentored and supported by fantastic physician attendings in the PICU and now on the GI team, assisting in my growth as an advanced practice provider.
When I'm not at work, I'm on the go with my husband and our blended family of seven children. We are heavily involved in sports and various rehab projects to keep us active and constantly growing.
