Kathryn E. Swafford, MSW

I’m a child therapist working in outpatient psychiatry at Cincinnati Children's. My goal is to help children and families overcome challenges by building on their strengths and providing tools and resources to assist in their ongoing success.

As an individual with a physical disability, I had to face many obstacles early in my life. As an adult, I want to empower and advocate for children, especially those most vulnerable. I like to meet children and families where they are. I try to be open-minded, realistic and supportive to meet their needs best.

I have traveled to several countries throughout the world. Being an individual with a physical disability, I have learned to view life from a unique perspective. In addition to working with children, I helped develop and create the employee resource group "Disabled & Abled." This group serves to advocate for and support employees with disabilities.
