Lauren Shannon, AC-PNP

I am a pediatric nurse practitioner and divide my work between Cincinnati Children’s Liberty campus and the hospital’s main campus. At the Liberty campus, I care for the general pediatric population admitted to the hospital with acute problems. At the main campus, I work on the “yellow team,” caring for medically complex patients in the hospital.

My desire to work in medicine began when I was young. I especially wanted to have a hands-on approach with patients, so it was an easy decision to further my education and become a pediatric nurse practitioner. I graduated summa cum laude from both undergraduate and graduate school.

I strongly believe that parents know their children best and provide important information to help guide their child’s care. I always consider both parental and patient input with my decision-making. I genuinely love what I do and value the relationships I develop with patients and their families.

During my free time, I love being with my husband and two kids — especially on the beach!
