I specialize in pediatric kidney transplantation, and I’m passionate about helping children and families navigate complex medical challenges. I take pride in spending time with my patients and their families, getting to know them beyond the clinic and understanding what matters most in their lives. My goal is to be a good educator about your child’s illness and our plan of care, always welcoming your input and making decisions together whenever possible.
My journey to medicine was inspired by incredible teachers and clinicians in pediatric nephrology who made even the most complicated topics approachable and engaging. I find it deeply rewarding to care for kidney transplant patients, as restoring kidney function can have an immediate and profound impact on a child’s health and quality of life.
In addition to my clinical work, I lead a translational research laboratory focused on understanding acute and chronic kidney transplant injury in children. We’re working to develop better non-invasive biomarkers for transplant rejection and studying outcomes in young adults who received transplants as children. Using advanced spatial biology techniques, our ultimate goal is to improve diagnostics and therapies for pediatric kidney transplant recipients.
Outside of work, I enjoy working and being outdoors, as well as pursuing my woodworking hobby at home when time allows.
