Sara Stevens, MD, MS

As a general and community pediatrician at Cincinnati Children’s, I believe the best care starts with trust, open communication and a judgment-free environment. I see my role as listening to families, providing evidence-based guidance and partnering with parents as they make decisions for their children. Because every child and family is unique, my goal is to create a space where families feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns and working together to support their child’s health and development. 

My path to medicine was not a traditional one. I began my career in jewelry marketing in New York City before a personal health scare that led me to reevaluate what I wanted my life’s work to be and the kind of impact I hoped to have on others. During my first year of medical school, I discovered my passion for pediatrics while shadowing an exceptional pediatrician. What I love most about pediatric medicine is the opportunity to care for children through every stage of childhood, from newborn visits through early adulthood, while building lasting relationships with families. It is a privilege to celebrate milestones, support families through challenges and be part of a child’s journey as they grow. 

During medical school, I was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. I was also honored with the Cincinnati Children's General and Community Pediatrics Primary Care Award for 2024-2025. After completing my pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children's, I served as chief resident.

Outside of work, I love to explore Cincinnati, watch my husband play jazz around town, spend quality time with my cat Izzy, listen to true crime podcasts and read (my goal is 30 books a year).
