In nursing school, pediatrics was my favorite rotation. I love working with kids and educating their caregivers! Children are amazing and so fun to be around — they inspire me every day!
I started my nursing career as a registered nurse with complex airway and transplant patients. I became an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner in 2012 and started working in the Transitional Care Center. In 2018, I started caring for patients with cystic fibrosis as well.
My nursing background with children with chronic illnesses gave me a strong foundation for being a nurse practitioner. I believe empathy is an important quality to have as a provider. I always treat my patients and their caregivers as I would treat myself and my family.
I was nominated for the Carol McKenzie Award for Excellence in Advanced Practice Nursing in 2019. I am the APRN education consultant for the Division of Pulmonary Medicine. I love teaching new providers who are at the beginning of their careers.
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors with my two kids — who keep me busy!
