About Me

Biography

As a physician assistant, my primary role is with the Pediatric Cardiology Consult service. I also have eight years’ experience in Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Living with a severe congenital heart defect, I always knew that I wanted to work in medicine. The human body has always fascinated me. By pursuing a career in medicine, I could not only learn more about the human body, but also give back to a community that had given me much to be thankful for.

I approach every child's care with the perspective of "do unto others as I would want done to myself." As a patient myself, I understand the fears and uncertainties of both the patient and their parents. My hope is to lessen those fears and provide a sense of hope and positivity in all aspects of patient care.

I value each patient’s and family’s input and I am always willing to be a listening ear. No patient or family should ever feel like they are not being heard or alone on their journey. I do my best to make them feel safe, protected and part of their care team.

As a researcher, I’m an active participant in the National Pediatric Cardiology-Quality Improvement Collaborative and the Fontan Outcomes Network. With collaboration between cardiac centers, patients, parents and providers, we hope to improve the quality of life, from a mental and physical perspective, for those living with single ventricle physiology. We are on our way to create the first national Fontan database registry, and much more!

I most enjoy spending quality time camping, biking, golfing or swimming with my husband and three children. I try to be physically active and exercise to maintain my heart health. Two fun facts about me: I love eating limes and lemons, and I'm a diehard Cleveland Indians and Browns fan — sorry Cincinnati!
