I am a physician assistant (PA) specializing in pediatric general and thoracic surgery. I work with infants, children, adolescents and adults having surgery for problems with their stomach and surrounding organs and chest. I care for them while they remain in the hospital after surgery.
I actively listen to understand patients' and families' needs, ensuring their questions are answered to provide the best care possible. I believe in honest communication while talking with patients about their problems, procedures and concerns.
My desire to serve my community inspired me to work in healthcare. I learned about this role when I worked as a research assistant in college, and I realized that I loved working directly with patients when I worked as a nurse’s aide on a transplant floor. I was inspired to work with kids as I learned about their resilience and curiosity during my rotations in PA school.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy listening to music, attending concerts across the country, reading (fiction and self-development), and taking dance classes.
