Emily R. Weghorst, MS, APRN-CNP

I am a pediatric nurse practitioner with more than 17 years of experience caring for children with complex cardiac conditions. I spent six years as a bedside nurse in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) before working as a pediatric cardiac ICU nurse practitioner for eleven years. I have transitioned to the pulmonary hypertension team, where I am excited to apply my extensive cardiology expertise to a new patient population.

I enjoy building long-term relationships with patients and families and am passionate about caring for children with complex medical needs throughout their healthcare journey. In addition to my clinical practice, I have a strong interest in patient, family, and staff education. My experience includes developing and facilitating simulation-based clinical training as well as providing situational awareness and leadership education. I am committed to delivering compassionate, family-centered care while supporting the growth and development of patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
